Anna & Matt - Sep '24

A Colourful Summer Wedding

As late summer brings warm breezes and vibrant landscapes, it’s the perfect season for a wedding that embraces bold colours and creativity. Anna and Matt transformed the barn into a stunning, colourful wonderland for a summer wedding that radiated joy and energy. Every detail, from the décor to the fashion, reflected the couple's vibrant personalities and their desire to create a day full of love, laughter, and vivid hues.

Anna is well known amongst her friends and family for not being a fan of a neutral palette (cue the night before pink hair dye top-up!) so this loved-up couple confidently chose a colour scheme that spanned the spectrum and the barn was the perfect backdrop for it! With its natural wood beams, high ceilings, and open spaces, the rustic charm of the barn provided a warm, neutral backdrop that allowed the bright hues to truly shine. The barn’s natural elements added a sense of warmth and authenticity, while the vibrant colour scheme brought the lively energy of summer indoors. It was a perfect blend of rustic elegance and bold, creative expression.

Couples are often afraid to choose bold colour but if you are brave and go for it, it really does have a spectacular impact. Anna’s sister created the most beautiful coloured ribbon backdrop for the ceremony, framing the couple as they exchanged vows, and an array of coloured ribbons were added to ceremony chairs. Dining tables were dressed with multi coloured dahlia florals and colourful glassware, bright linens and miniature bottles of limoncello added an extra layer of fun to the table settings. Hanging from the beams of the barn were strings of colourful paper lanterns, fans and pom poms adding to the joyful atmosphere. Every detail felt playful and intentional, creating a wedding experience that was anything but ordinary.

The bride wore a stunning ivory two piece outfit with tasselled arms that stood out beautifully against the backdrop of vibrant décor, but it was her accessories that truly made a statement. She wore a long ombre veil that became a beautiful peachy colour at the bottom, rose gold shoes and a gorgeous floral crown. The bridesmaids also wore two-piece outfits - each in a different shade of tuile skirt with gorgeous cream, detailed tops. Anna and her bridesmaids also carried bouquets made of dahlias and garden flowers in every shade.

Following a summery feast of barbecue and wedding cake, it was time for the party to begin. In addition to the dancing, the couple had set up a vibrant photo booth filled with playful props that guests could use to capture the fun and energy of the day. It became a favourite spot for guests to snap photos and create memories that would last long after the night ended.

This colourful summer wedding was more than just a beautiful celebration—it was a reflection of the couple’s vibrant personalities and their love for life, laughter, and each other. The combination of bold hues, rustic charm, and the barn’s natural beauty made for a wedding that felt alive with energy and joy. Congratulations Anna and Matt!
