Our last wedding in October was on a beautiful crisp Wednesday. The weather was still warm and the beautiful colours on the trees outside were absolutely stunning. A midweek wedding is becoming more popular with a smaller and more intimate guest list. A traditional Saturday wedding is still popular but a Wednesday is becoming a new normal in the industry and it’s something we love doing!
Bianca and Owen had taken so much time and effort in transforming the barn the day before the wedding. Building arches, decorating tables and adding those little details around the barn to really make their vision come to life. Having the three day hire of the barn really allows couples to feel relaxed on their wedding day knowing that everything has been completed the day prior and it’s only the finishing touches which may need to happen on the day.
With the ceremony taking place at 1pm, it was the perfect time of day to make sure we made the most of the daylight. With the ceremony complete guests made their way out onto the rear lawn for a little surprise! Bianca and Owen had a love for alpacas and had arranged for the amazing Wymondham alpacas to come down to the barn during the drinks reception. This definitely kept all guests entertained during the drinks reception and the alpacas were centre stage in most photos. They even had little bow ties on!!
Guests took their seats in the woodshed ready for dining to take place. With three delicious courses served by Gold Leaf it was time for the speeches to commence. Three speeches took place and the room was filled with laughter, tears and smiles. Bianca and Owen had decorated the woodshed beautifully. Hanging festoons lights added extra light to the room alongside the candles along the tables.
With our in house bar open and evening guests starting to arrive, it was time for the cut cake and first dance to take place. Bianca and Owen opted to have a band and a DJ in the evening. Big Summer Blow Out was a great band singing disney classics throughout the evening and DJ Paul King was playing right through till midnight.
The Old Coach House was booked for a three night stay by our couple which meant they still had the opportunity to stay all day Sunday with family and friends. Our accommodation can be booked on either a two or three night basis which allows for a relaxed weekend. Groups of up to 30 guests can attend the house at one time which means a meal the night before or day after it is a great option to keep the celebrations going!!
Bianca and Owen you have been such a pleasure working with over the last few years and we wish you all the best, especially with your new arrival a few weeks away!! Xx
