Kerry & Blake - May '24

Updated: Jul 11

Kerry and Blake are a great couple and were a great couple to plan with too! From the very first time we met them, they were full of excitement and enthusiasm for the day. They had great ideas and were very open to supplier recommendations and to advice regarding timings and use of the venue space.

Kerry, in particular, had great vision regarding decorative elements and drew upon great suppliers to create the final result. However, even though Kerry had sourced elements from fantastic suppliers, at the last minute, she found herself doubting how everything would come together.

If, as part of the planning process, you have found the choice of styles and looks available a little overwhelming (because, let’s face it, anything is possible so who wouldn’t be a little overwhelmed!), as you cement your decor plans, you may find it beneficial to put a pause on the Pinterest account to avoid second-guessing your mood board.

Alternatively, if you are fully confident in your vision but you are nervous about how to achieve that vision, the hire companies that we would recommend also offer styling services alongside the dry hire. It may be worth considering adding this element for peace of mind as, while you are not restricted on which suppliers you use to create your vision, the companies that we recommend are familiar with the venue and have staged many of their products in different ways within the venue on different occasions. They can offer advice on colour, style, positioning and sizing. If you like the idea of a slightly eclectic mix of pieces, they are very well placed to advise on which combinations work best in which spaces to achieve the desired feel for the room.

As it turned out, Kerry’s doubts were completely unfounded and her scheme came together beautifully! The use of a tonal palette of green hues throughout the venue picked out the natural red brick work in the barn walls. A huge, hexagonal wooden backdrop featured a large neutral dried flower installation and was framed by green draping and festoon lighting.

In the Woodshed, neutral table runners and dried flower arrangements added interest to dining tables alongside the most incredible place cards. Kerry and Blake had commissioned talented local artist, Owen Mathers, to paint individual portraits of each guest - it created quite a stir when it came time for guests to take their seats. A much appreciated favour to remember the day by.

Following a wedding breakfast, guests were treated to the awesome Lee Vann performing in the evening alongside a choice of food trucks offering both pizza and waffles, the perfect accompaniments to an espresso martini cocktail!

Kerry and Blake are obviously made for each other and this day was made for them too. So many personal touches and such a great atmosphere of celebration. We wish you both every happiness for your married life.
