Sophie & Simon - June '22

Simon and Sophie were over the moon when they discovered upon their first visit to Curds Hall Barn that they could marry on the date that would mark the anniversary of their first meeting. And before we knew it, Wednesday the 1st of June 2022 (and its changeable weather!) was upon us.

From the first time they saw it, Simon and Sophie really embraced the barn with all its character and set out from the beginning to accentuate its rural, rustic beauty with chic yet relaxed styling. They planned meticulously and employed the services of some wonderful suppliers who truly shared their vision. The result was perfection!

The day before the wedding day was eagerly awaited, as Sophie anticipated the translation of all of her plans from her imagination to real life. The excitement was palpable as things began to come together in the barn with the combination of beautiful flowers, furnishings and place settings. With the vision complete, our very excited couple made their way back to the Old Coach House to enjoy some time with their family and friends.

A very excited Groom arrived at the barn ready to welcome guests. The ceremony was set in the Woodshed with a large wooden arch backdrop showcasing linen swags and floral arrangements with a gorgeous combination of fresh yellow and white blooms with pampas grass and bright green foliage. Vintage rugs and more pampas grass marked the aisle as the lovely Sophie made her way down the aisle to the sounds of a live violinist and guitarist.

We truly cannot express strongly enough the difference that live music makes to a wedding day. Particularly the ceremony - the goosebump effect is magnified tenfold and there is never a dry eye in the house!

With vows and rings exchanged, the new Mr and Mrs Goodwin made their way back down the aisle as their guests dispensed with traditional confetti and, instead, aimed their bubble wands at the newlyweds!

Ice cream accompanied celebration drinks, including Simon’s choice of flavour: Tia Maria and chocolate!

After more drinks, chatting and photographs, guests were invited to take their seats for dining at tables in the Main Barn. Oatmeal table runners, textured charger plates, brass candlesticks and floral arrangements came together beautifully to dress the room for dining.

A three course wedding breakfast was followed by coffee ahead of heartfelt speeches. The mezzanine area had been arranged as a children’s play area to keep them amused during the speeches. A great idea with tipis, hula hoops, books and toys to be enjoyed throughout the day.

A stunning wedding cake was gifted to the lucky couple by one of their closest friends and bridesmaid and they cut it for their guests to enjoy ahead of making their way outside to the Cartshed for a first dance. The newlyweds had decided that they would like to dance their first dance as husband and wife privately and it was a beautiful, intimate moment captured by their photographer.

A stunning sunset decorated the sky as our lovely couple explored the grounds with their photographer ahead of hitting the dance floor to party the night away!

Congratulations Sophie and Simon!
